Prof. E. S. Dwarakadasa

Prof (Dr.) Dwarakadasa, CEO and MD of Karnataka Hybrid Micro Devices Ltd, is a well-known and eminent Metallurgist. He has been an academician for about 42 years and associated with many universities worldwide with the longest association with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore at the Department of Metallurgy & Material Sciences. During his academic tenure he has to his credit more than 180 papers and 16 books published, guided more than 25 Ph.D.’s. and 30 M.Sc. (Engineering) students. He is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Metals, National Academy of Engineering, Electrochemical Society of India, Aeronautical Society of India and a Founder Member of the Aluminum Association of India. He has been honored with the Best Metallurgist Award by Ministry of Steel and Mines and the Indian Institute of Metals (1990), Metaserve International Award for excellence in electron microscopy, Institute of metallurgists, London (1980), Hindustan Zinc Gold Medal (2000) and the NALCO Gold Medal (2006). He is currently. Apart from this he has contributed greatly to the social welfare in his personal capacity as well as through his foundation. He is an active member of the Parkinson's Society of Karnataka. He is very actively involved in Child Education.

Badari S. Eswar

Badari Eswar is a Director of Analytics, Pricing and Technology at RedStone LLC, a boutique financial firm in New York. Prior to that he was Program Director at Barclays Global Investors, San Francisco, where he spearheaded a number of technology projects including managing technology for their Tokyo office for a number of years. Badari did fundamental research in Visual Languages at Bell Communications Research and Sun Microsystems Inc, before working in financial industry in firms including Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley.

Badari has been a director at Foresight Insurance and Risk Management Services, a successful insurance consulting firm in Bangalore, which he helped found as an angel investor.

In addition to technology, his interests include writing short stories in English. He is also working on his first novel.

Durga Das

Durga Das is the Founder and Managing Partner of Das Star. She created Das Star as a vehicle to generate a new model of investing, enabling first entrant entrepreneurs to raise money and build expertise, leading them towards additional future funding or buy-out.

Durga has more than twenty years experience in the critical early stages of startups – with skilled emphasis on creation, management, business development, marketing and sales. Durga′s entrepreneurship, marketing and advertising experience began with DD Advertising in 1987. She soon ventured into technology by joining Indigo Technologies, a company that helped automate stock exchanges around the world. She then started Innova Solutions as Co-Founder and Vice-President of Sales. From there, her career took her to NetScaler as Director of Channel Sales. Both Innova Solutions and NetScaler were subsequently acquired.

Before founding vMobo Mobile a company she recently exited, Durga was Co-Founder and COO at Paypod, an advertising technology platform that was later bought out in 2007. All her previous companies have been successfully acquired; a testimony to an amazing track record of her strengths in creation, management and development of valuable startups.

When not hitting homeruns in the business world, Durga hits sixes and fours playing for the U.S. Women′s Cricket Team. An active world traveler, she can also be found in some remote corner of Africa hunting tigers (with a camera), smelling coffee beans at her resort in South India or visiting friends in Paris or Rio de Janerio. She is a passionate golfer and newly initiated Sailor. Durga brings to Das Star an amazing wealth of experience from years of managing successful startups. A continuous initiator of revenue generating concepts, she possesses an innate understanding of the market pulse at ground level.
